There will come a time when electric vehicles become the predominate form of personal transportation. While Tesla makes news catering to the wealthy client, others (Nissan, Chevrolet and Volkswagen) build mid-level electric cars that are somewhat affordable. What about the entry-level electric car market?
Mahindra has that covered.
Mahindra has been the electric game for a while, the Mahindra e2o is the latest electric car for the massive Indian market. It can travel up to 140 kilometers on a full charge. A full charge from a depleted battery takes 9-hours on regular power or you can get a fast charger to give you about 90% in about 90 minutes. Yes, the e2o has a 19 kW (kilo-watt) electric motor that produces 25.5 BHP @ 3,750 rpm.
One of the fascinating aspect of the e2o is the way it’s built. Using a tube-frame underneath, the e2o is covered with PVC (plastic) panels. These panels are lightweight, dent resistant and come color-infused with color. Light scratches and scrapes will not discolor the panel, and it’s fairly easy to replace.
“The e2o is a clever little car. Gearless, noiseless, emission-less, it is the incredible electric car that delivers an astonishing driving experience. Sustainable and convenient, the e2o is leading the global charge to unearth an affordable and green car. Innovation-rich and city-ready, it is today’s path-breaking solution to tomorrow’s mobility needs. Sync it with your phone to get started!” – – Mahindra

The question is out there, the upcoming Lexus UX looks like it shares the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) with several vehicles including the Toyota CH-R. While there is very little official information about the Lexus UX, officials from Lexus confirmed that it will be cut.
Here’s a bit of information coming from our friends at TFLcar. Remember: We have the TFL team videos on our Autowerkz.TV Autos Channel.
This first question comes from a viewer who wants to know what’s going on with the Lexus UX crossover.
Q:Hi Nathan; I would like to know if you hear anything on the future of the LEXUS UX, about the production?
A: Howdy M!
The upcoming Lexus UX competes with the the Audi Q3, the Mercedes-Benz GLA-class, and the BMW X1. It will slot under the Lexus NX. It looks like it will share its platform and some components with the Toyota CH-R.
Here’s what we know:
It’s official – the Lexus UX is heading to production.
There will be a hybrid available, Lexus applied for the UX 250 and UX 250h trademarks.
This will be the entry model as the Lexus CT-200h is ending production soon.
Rumor has it that there will be more information (and, possibly, a reveal) at the 2017 Los Angeles International Auto Show
That’s about all I got. Hopefully, Lexus will leak some additional details soon.
The premier slate of car enthusiasts’ events is quickly approaching: the infamous Monterey Car Week is upon us! Beginning August 11th, over one hundred thousand people descend upon gorgeous northern California to the largest Concours, rallies and events in the car enthusiasm. Visitors see unbelievable one-off cars, new concept cars, and famous celebrities all while basking under the sumptuous California sun. Here’s a who’s who guide of what you should attend during the festivities:
Top 5 Slate of Events

In just over two weeks, the multitude and extravagance of truly otherworldly classics will descend upon Pebble Beach Golf Course in Monterey. Automotive classics will compete in 27 classes, and honor the past and look to the future of the automotive culture as a whole.
Concorso Italiano – On August 19th, yet again Concorso Italiano will pull out all the stops with the likes of the 1967 Alfa Romeo GTV, 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso, Ferrari 330 GT 2 + 2, Lamborghini LP-640 Murcielago Roadster, 1961 Maserati 3500 GT, and other ethereal Italian spectacles that will grace the Black Horse Golf Course (an aptly named course for this event). 4. Strolling Carmel-by-the-Sea – All these structured events take months of planning and registration to come to reality. For those more spontaneous visitors to Monterey Car Week, truly one of the things to behold is just cruising down Ocean Ave. in Carmel-by-the-Sea. The area also holds a Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours in the downtown area on Tuesday 15th, but it is a treat each night to comb through the downtown Carmel area. Each night, droves of one-off foreign and domestic classics and hyper cars venture through the city, one after the other. 5.Exotics on Cannery Row – Friday August 18th features one other pristine event, which is free to the public – Exotics on Cannery Row. This event will feature over 300 exotic and foreign hyper cars with over 19,000 enthusiasts in attendance. Located off of Cannery Row in Monterey, Calif., this event pits enthusiasts in an absolute breathtaking scenery, accompanied by absolutely sublime foreign exotic cars.

Also, 30 years ago, in 1987, Lamborghini was purchased by Chrysler and Lamborghini began design of the 3.5 liter V12 engine for the French Formula 1 team Larrousse.

Expected to start shipping December 1st.

It comes equipped with a comfortable motorbike bike seat, a heavy duty kick stand, removable battery for easy charging, and off-road tires for super traction. The Super 73 Scout is a unique, life-changing and practical gift for anyone. The adventure is yours on a Super 73!” – – (paraphrased from lithiumcycles.com)
The 2017 Volkswagen Saveiro Mini Pickup Truck comes with a 101 horsepower, 1.6-liter engine that makes about 104 lb-ft of torque. The only transmission is a five speed manual. It comes only as a front-wheel drive (FWD) mini truck with either a extended cab, or a full extra cab that can hold a total of five riders.
While there are no plans to sell the Volkswagen Saveiro in the United States, the market for smaller pickup trucks has grown rapidly. As a small urban pickup truck, the Volkswagen Saveiro would have no direct competition. The only FWD pickup truck available in the United States is the much-larger Honda Ridgeline pickup truck.
The 2017 Volkswagen Saveiro Mini Pickup Truck is available in South American markets between (roughly) $7,000 to $10,000. The Volkswagen Saveiro Mini Pickup Truck pictured above is the new “Pepper” model which is a higher trim level that incorporates exterior and interior trim upgrades.
Interested in getting the Volkswagen Saveiro Mini Pickup Truck in your country?
Prepare to send a lot of emails to the Volkswagen big boss: Herbert Diess – Chairman of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand – in Wolfsburg, Germany. While you’re at it, please ask Mr. Diess to bring the Polo GTI and Volkswagen Scirocco to the United States too!

The Humdinga has robust on water and off road capabilities that allows it’s task, be it recreational, utility, rescue or otherwise, to be completed rapidly and efficiently.
What you’re seeing here is a prime example of a 1969 Subaru Sambar 360 Pickup Truck. This baby is a two-stroke, so you have to mix your oil and petrol. This model was for sale three years ago and these photos accompanied the truck. Yep, I said truck. This model probably has the 20 -25 horsepower (18 kW) air-cooled 356cc (EK series) engine. It was later replaced by the more powerful (EK34) water-cooled engine. A three-speed manual transmission was standard.
According to Wikipedia: “The nickname for this generation is “baban” Sambar.”
These trucks (there – I said it again) were street legal in the United States and could fly down the highway at nearly 55 mph. This is the same engine and gearbox found in the tiny Subaru 360 and it had a hell of a time moving it quickly. Around town, they are quick enough and easy to park. On large North American highways, they are not especially happy. Add some crosswinds and your Subaru Sambar 360 Pickup was downright unhappy.
I have firsthand experience driving one of these from Southern California to Seattle WA. It wasn’t fun. Still, the Subaru Sambar 360 Pickup Truck is a hoot around town.
